Day 85, Friday morning, Aug 11th

anthony5736

Woke up to a flat rear tire yesterday. Went to the Vulture Bicycles shop here in town (Wickenburg, AZ). The owner is an astounding man who served in the Army. The experience he shared with me resonated as factual. I think my experience in the service allowed me to better appreciate the valuable contributions the bike shop owner made. I was humbled. He is one of many and managed to accomplish so much to help keep the world a safer place during his tenure in the US Army. I was supplied with 2 innertubes with sealant, and a tire. I plan to keep the original rear tire as a spare.

I called the State Police in Arizona. Also the the California State Police. Also called some bicycle shops in San Diego and in Yuma to get some opinions on various routes. There is lots to consider on the final leg to San Diego. I mapped my trip yesterday and today I will get it all down on paper and make phone calls to key RV parks.

Delayed, but it will help a lot to have increased confidence in the remaining route to be traveled.

Updates to follow. Am doing well!
